Batteries aren’t designed to be replaced.,
Is he cute? Yes.
Is he cuddly? Definitely.
Is he overpriced? Oh, you betcha. But that’s what I get for not shopping around this time.
Is he loud? Most assuredly not. You almost have to put your ear to his chest to hear him.
One potential problem is that the batteries are not designed to be replaceable. Says so right on the tag attached to his ear. If you want to replace his battery in the (probably sooner than later) future, you’ll have to do major surgery on poor Dug.

|There’s one thing missing….,
The toy in real life is not quite as spiffy looking as it is in the picture, but overall, that’s to be expected. No, the real problem is, of all the things Dug says when you press his paw, the one word he doesn’t say is “SQUIRREL!”
A sad state of affairs, but it’s still cute as heck and I loooove it. ~_^

|“I just met you, but I love you”,
I disagree with the reviewer who said he isn’t as cute as he appears in the picture because the Dug I purchased for my daughter looks exactly as he does in the picture. He is very cute and I like that they used his actual voice for all of his sayings because you don’t always see that in a toy. We have a Sully from Monsters, Inc. that doesn’t use the same voice so I was glad to hear Dug’s voice in this plush.
I would also have to say that even though there is no mention of any squirrels, his other sayings are cute enough to get over that fact rather quickly. His barking and howling is my daughters favorite thing he does anyway, so I don’t think she is missing any squirrel talk.
We have had him for almost a year now and he has held up very nicely–no rips or tears in his fabric. His batteries are holding up nicely, which is good because you can’t replace them. I purchased him at my local Disney Store so I knew about the lack of replaceable batteries before I busted out my wallet. I would give 5 stars if the batteries were replaceable but since he’s held up so well for the past year I think 4 stars will suffice.
